Resolutions

Wow I have been hanging about the house writing out the standard resolutions about health and well being. I have not even begun to write out my quilting resolutions. So I am now going to give that a try.

I am planning to always sew with intention. I would love to have a plan for who my work is being created for, or sewing with a generous spirit. I would like to finish "Almost Alice's" quilt. It was a BOM from my local quilt shop Gathering Fabric. I enjoyed building it. IT is called Almost Alice's because I was making it for my sister in law as a Christmas gift. When Christmas rolled around my family wanted to try a new form of gift giving. (the white elephant exchange) so I could not ensure Alice got this quilt. So I will put it away until the right time arrives.

On another note I have a quilt from last spring I should finish. It is called Summer Romance and I am getting excited to complete it. I used the Cherry Wood fabrics which are rich beautiful hand dyed cotton. I love using this fabric because it looks like suede. Anyway... I have to keep my spirits up because I am such a rookie. When I started this quilt I did not have a firm grasp of "perfect points" and I was fuzzy on my machines 1/4 inch seam. After practicing and workin gwith our charity group in the Stray Thread Guild the woman have "Straytened" out my ways! I am now about to have perfect points, my blocks are truly the size I intend.

So it is time to pull out the quilt and finish it. It has 177 nine patches... Great balls of fire... I am hoping with all my hope that my seams line up because it is a beauty! Cross your fingers for me. I am hoping the magic fabric fairies have made all my work impeccable while this UFO has rested in my stash.

Lastly I am going to finish the Heirloom Romance by Crabapple Hill. This is one of those patterns where you could get so caught up in embellishing that you never know when to stop. Well my intention is to keep it subtle. Very subtle...

I am hoping your new year is full of thread, fabric and laughter. I am praying for divine inspiration and enjoying life around me. Today it is 28 degrees and the lake outside is frozen. Breathtakingly beautiful.
